I understand some are embarrassed by the publishing school administrator salaries, especially since they haven’t been able to offer a cogent rationale for support for these salaries.
Why should people be embarrass? The reality depicted in the attached graph and the common suggestion that helping these students, as well as those with disabilities, and those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, is somehow a chore that FCPS can’t afford.
Do you understand we spend more money to educate non-ESOL, non-disabled, and non-economically disadvantaged students than any other school district in the Northern Virginia area (and perhaps the entire universe) with little to show for it in terms of increased student performance, all the while allowing the students who need the most help to languish?
The school system needs to focus on the real needs.
